Decorreu na ESE entre 2 e 6 de março de 2026, a formação em formato BIP intitulada “Education and Heritage: House-Museums and Archives to Activate Memory Axes”, tendo por premissas: explorar o potencial educativo de museus e arquivos como agentes ativos na construção, transmissão e problematização da memória cultural. Assim, reuniu-se na ESE um grupo de Estudantes da Itália (Università Gregorio VII) e Polónia (University of the National Education Commission, Krakow) que, juntamente com os seus pares da ESE (P. PORTO), visitaram diversas casas-museu, coleções e arquivos no Porto e Vila do Conde, analisando casos de boas práticas e discutindo estratégias pedagógicas participativas e inclusivas.
A formação levou os participantes a identificar diferentes tipologias de casas-museu, valorizar arquivos pessoais e negligenciados, e reconhecer narrativas silenciadas ou marginalizadas, especialmente das mulheres, minorias e comunidades locais, reforçando a função social do património cultural. Esta iniciativa reforça o compromisso da ESE com a cooperação internacional, a inovação educativa e a promoção de estratégias que conectem museus e arquivos com a sociedade, promovendo reflexão crítica sobre a construção de identidade cultural.

The BIP-format training course entitled “Education and Heritage: House-Museums and Archives to Activate Memory Axes” took place at ESE from 2 to 6 March 2026, with the aim of exploring the educational potential of museums and archives as active agents in the construction, transmission and critical engagement of cultural memory. As part of this initiative, a group of students from Italy (Università Gregorio VII) and Poland (University of the National Education Commission, Krakow) gathered at ESE and, together with their peers from the School of Education (P. PORTO), visited various house-museums, collections and archives in Porto and Vila do Conde, analysing examples of best practice and discussing participatory and inclusive pedagogical strategies.
The training enabled participants to identify different types of house-museums, to value personal and neglected archives, and to acknowledge silenced or marginalised narratives, particularly those of women, minorities and local communities, thereby reinforcing the social role of cultural heritage. This initiative reinforces ESE’s commitment to international cooperation, educational innovation and the promotion of strategies that connect museums and archives with society, fostering critical reflection on the construction of cultural identity.
